Cruise Ship Bathrooms: Everything You Need to Know

The bartenders are masters of their craft, mixing up delicious cocktails that complement the lively ambiance. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to have a good time, Club 6 offers a vibrant dance floor experience that will leave you wanting more. Alfons is the visionary leader and driving force behind Voyager Info’s success. From sailing across pristine Caribbean waters to embarking on daring expeditions to far-flung destinations, he has amassed a treasure trove of first-hand experiences in the world of cruising. While using a cruise cabin bathroom, I noticed the limited availability of electrical outlets, which can be inconvenient for charging devices.

Does the cruise ship provide soap and shampoo?

The average size of bathrooms on cruise ships is 25 to 30 square feet, which includes the shower, toilet, washbasin cabinet, and storage space. Like booking a hotel room, when booking your cruise cabin of choice it’s essential to plan ahead. Our Sailor Services team makes it easy to plan a cruise in advance, assisting not only with cabins, but also booking flights and even hotels for the days prior to or following your departure.

How To Choose The Best Cruise Ship Cabin For You

This means I have to use the outlets in the main part of the cabin, which can be a hassle when I need to curl my hair or use other electrical devices in the bathroom. Another solution is to use stackable storage containers or baskets to organize and store items underneath the sink or in cabinets. An FYI – On Disney Cruises, you aren’t allowed to bring and hang over the door organizers, as they can damage the bathroom door. In this case, you can hang from the wall or ceiling with magnetic hooks, or inside a closet door.

Making The Best Use Of Your Cruise Ship Bathroom

Singapore, known for its rich cultural heritage, offers a mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian influences. The city-state’s diverse neighborhoods, like Chinatown and Little India, showcase its multiculturalism. From stunning landscapes to diverse cultures, this world cruise promises unforgettable experiences at every turn. From beloved dance hits to trendy beats, the resident DJ keeps the party going all night long.

Every cruise cabin has a flat-screen TV, so you can unwind and zone out after a busy day exploring a port and our onboard amenities. This isn’t one of those Airbnbs where you show up to find an empty bathroom, and need to make a last-minute run to a convenience store just to brush your teeth. Expect to find the basic toiletries in your cabin bathroom – including a hairdryer – which can be restocked at any time by room service. Much like bellhops at hotels, we offer a baggage porter service that delivers your luggage from the port to the cruise cabin.

But the excitement doesn’t end there; the ship also boasts vibrant nightlife options, including a pulsating dance club and elegant bars and theaters. As you have laundry, throw them in your mesh laundry bags and put them away in your suitcase. A handy tip to keep your cabin clutter free is to store your luggage under your bed. Here are the magnetic hooks I mentioned, which are very handy for keep your whole cabin organized. Cruise Packing Tip – A friend of mine packs the organizer ahead of time and puts in her luggage. The nice thing about this, is that you can keep so many things in it, yet everything has it’s own space.

Cruise Bathroom Organization Tips and Useful Accessories

Everyone’s favorite part of staying in a hotel, room service means enjoying your favorite meals from the comfort of your own bed. On our ships, not only can you get food delivered to your room, but also towels and other amenities you might need. And the best part is – gratuities are included in the cost of the cruise. How you organize your toiletries can make a great difference in bathroom space.

Yes, and they can be a lifesaver when your cabin mate has your private bathroom occupied. Public restrooms are usually located near the dining, drinking and entertainment venues and often not far from pool areas. Additional restrooms and showers are available in gym and/or spa facilities. Some, but not all, public restrooms will offer diaper-changing facilities. Do not attempt to use haircare appliances in any electrical outlet labeled only for shavers.

Decide how much you’re willing to spend and remember that while the cabin is important, you’ll also want to budget for on-board activities, excursions, beverages, and other expenses. Perhaps more so than the accommodation grade, the cabin location can significantly impact your cruise experience. Our pool and outdoor hot tubs are a staple of our ship, but unlike hotels, Sailors can also look forward to a full spa with pools of varying temperatures, as well as group fitness classes. In most hotels, you can’t control the lighting beyond flipping a switch on and off. In our cabins, an easy-to-use tablet gives you access to sophisticated lighting controls, including mood lighting. Like hotel rooms, you’ll find a closet and storage area to hang clothes and store your suitcases, as well as a safe to protect your valuables.

Not unique to Vista but still worth mentioning are the individual bottles of green tea-scented Bulgari body lotion, shampoo/body wash and conditioner, as well as two styles of Bulgari soap. The shower has a shaving bar, also useful for anyone who doesn't want to fold in half yoga-style to wash their lower legs or feet. It has both a rain showerhead and a removable shower wand on an adjustable pole, so you have multiple ways to get yourself wet and rinse off soap and shampoo. It was a huge knock for an upscale cruise line that generally wows passengers with beautifully designed public spaces, fantastic dining and some of the most comfy beds at sea. 👆 There is hand soap and lotion in the bathroom, along with hand towels.

The vanity counter can hold a couple of washcloths and a soap dish, with no room for your toiletry bag. There's not much room to turn around, and two people are definitely not brushing their teeth at the same time. One section includes a shower and sink as before, but the second adds a tub/shower combo to the sink and toilet for even greater configurability.

Most cruise ship bathrooms, however, do not have independent vents (though a small vent may be connected to the light), bathtubs, dual sinks, multiple outlets, vanity areas, or windows. Using a cruise cabin bathroom, I found the showers to be relatively small with limited space to move around. Despite the compact size, the showers were equipped with essential amenities for a comfortable experience. As for ventilation options, cruise ship bathrooms do not have switch-operated vents.

Carnival Cruise Line Hints at Possible World Cruise

Back inside you’ll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with a tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three. Take advantage of Carnival's onboard activities, including WaterWorks water slides, pools, sports courts, ropes course, mini-golf, video arcade, sports bars, casino, duty-free shopping, bars and lounges, art gallery and more. So what can you expect on this cruise ship and what all did the $200 million dry dock include? Here’s everything you need to know about Carnival Radiance, so you can find out if it’s the perfect ship for your next cruising vacation.

Dining

View Carnival's cruise ship staterooms, including suites, balconies, oceanviews and interior staterooms. Plus, Cloud 9 Balconies bring health and wellness to your room. If you’d prefer to stay nice and dry, check out SportSquare, where basketball, mini-golf, ping pong and other games are on the menu. You can also try your hand at the ropes course, for awesome water views, from high above the ship’s deck. The newly renovated Carnival Radiance offers multiple classes of staterooms including interior rooms, classic balcony cabins, extended balcony cabins, premium vista balcony staterooms, and suites. Carnival Radiance comes in with a gross tonnage of 101,509 GT and a length of 893 feet.

The buffet is also home to the sandwich-serving deli, and the Seafood Shack is also nearby. Let us know if you cruise on the Radiance and how your experience is.

Competing With Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise

The ship joined Carnival Cruise Line from Costa Cruises in September 2022, and does not yet have all the characteristic Fun Ship features. Each Spirit-class ship can welcome 2,124 guests at double occupancy, or up to 2,680 travelers when fully booked with all berths filled. These ships are also sturdily built to handle harsher sailing conditions, and are frequently tapped for Greenland itineraries, Panama Canal transits, and long-haul repositionings such as between Australia and Alaska. Cruise Radio prioritizes well-balanced cruise news coverage and accurate reporting, paired with ship reviews and tips. On port days, I recommend heading out to the Lido deck for a biscuit honey chicken sandwich and fries at Big Chicken or a breakfast burrito at BlueIguana Cantina.

Carnival Victory had a total number of 1379 cabins (of which 50 Suites) in 34 grades. The reconstructed Carnival Radiance has 1448 staterooms (including 52 suites), and most (568) are Interior and sized 185 ft2 / 17 m2. The liner also has Oceanviews (310), Balcony (533) and Suites (86), a total of 18 Carnival Cloud 9 Spa cabins and 31 wheelchair-accessible cabins. The largest are the Captain's Suites (505 ft2 / 47 m2 plus 150 ft2 / 14 m2 terrace, max capacity 5 passengers). On Carnival Radiance, SportSquare includes a basketball court, mini golf, a ropes course, various table games (pool, foosball, ping-pong, etc.), and a giant chess board. It’s a fun, colorful area perfect for having fun in the sun with your family.

Feature onboard events were a full live concert and nightly open-deck parties. Until early-2013, the liner offered 7-day Southern Caribbean cruises from homeport San Juan (Puerto Rico). In 2013, Valor replaced the Destiny ship (now Sunshine) in PortMiami.

Yet perhaps craft cocktails prepared by master mixologists are more your style and are also a specialty of Alchemy Bar. Choose a vintage classic or customize your own concoction at this speakeasy-inspired spot. For the 21-and-older cruise crowd, Carnival Radiance® presents a range of awesome bars, each with a distinct atmosphere. Spending time outdoors doesn’t always mean lots of action, it can also mean lots of relaxation. This sometimes involves leaving the kids behind, at least for a little while. Treat yourself (or your friends) to a massage, body wrap, facial or other wellness treatment.

Cloud 9 Spa Interior with Picture Window (Walkway View)

The 274-night voyage, which began on December 10, 2023, was originally scheduled to visit all seven continents and more than 150 ports of call in 65 countries. As is to be expected, there have been several changes to the itinerary already due to weather, as well as a significant deviation due to the Red Sea tensions. A world cruise is a lengthy itinerary for a single ship, often following a route that either circumnavigates the globe or else does a very extensive region, such as completely covering both North and South America, for example. Carnival Cruise Line might be considering a world cruise itinerary in the future, according to a hint dropped by the cruise line’s brand ambassador, John Heald. Participants step up to the small stage of the RedFrog Pub and belt out tunes, which can also be heard from the nearby Bonsai Sushi Express and Alchemy Bar.

The new-and-improved Carnival Radiance was announced in 2018 and began the dry docking process in March 2020. However, as cruisers well know, the industry was heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and so the refurbishments were put on hold. As Carnival Victory, this ship was ordered in 1997, launched in 1998 and finally christened with its prior name in 2000. Built at an original cost of $410 million, it served travelers from its home port in Miami, with routes throughout the Caribbean. Following the USD 200 million drydock reconstruction and refurbishment (planned for March 19 - April 29, 2020, in Cadiz Spain) the new Victory-Radiance ship was planned to offer 5x Mediterranean roundtrips from Barcelona. The ship's christening/official naming ceremony was on December 12, 2021, held at Long Beach (California USA) prior to the Maiden Voyage (Dec 13).

Why not have some fun at Carnival Radiance’s onboard casino, where slots, blackjack, poker and table games present the chance to pocket some pennies or even win some seriously big bucks. Responses to Heald’s world cruise hints have been spectacular, with great enthusiasm being expressed for such an opportunity. While some travelers note they’d need to retire before setting sail, there is a lot of positive response.

In this article, I compiled five Carnival Radiance tips you should know before you sail. If you do not want to hear excited kids lining up for the waterslide I would suggest trying to grab a chair or serenity deck bed closer to the front of the ship. Every day the menu changes to include amazing options including vegan and vegetarian options. One of our absolute favorite Italian restaurants is located above the Lido Buffet on deck 10.

The 88,500-gross-ton vessels in the class are some of the cruise line’s most popular vessels and are a fan favorite for frequent Carnival cruisers. On sea days, you may head to the main dining room for Seaday Brunch, where you’ll find a Brunch Burger, fried chicken, waffles, and a skillet cake with guava preserve and marshmallows. The main dining room offers sit-down dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have afternoon tea on sea days which is not to be missed. BlueIguana Cantina is open for breakfast and lunch daily onboard. Carnival Radiance is the third ship in the fleet to feature the Heroes Bar, which is dedicated to veterans and their families.

Nibble on popcorn while watching movies on the huge poolside screen at the Carnival Seaside Theater. Join in a sing-along at the piano bar, or break out on your own with karaoke. You'll be captivated by spectacular production shows in the lounge, comedy acts, live music, DJs spinning your favorites and more. On November 13, 2018, Carnival announced Radiance ship's inaugural schedule for 2020. Following the reconstruction in 2020, on Carnival Radiance will be added new dining, beverage and entertainment venues.

As such, Carnival Radiance’s size is nothing notable; it’s not even in the top 50 largest cruise ships in the world. The ship features 13 decks and has capacity for 2,984 passengers at double occupancy, or 3,873 passengers at maximum occupancy. Carnival Radiance, formerly Carnival Victory, was transformed in the spring of 2020 with a $200 million makeover. This 101,509-ton, 2,985-guest beauty received lovely additions including new and upgraded suites and staterooms, entertainment options, and more. She continues to be a perfect choice for family vacations, couples and those traveling solo.

Gary Shteyngart: Crying Myself to Sleep on the Icon of the Seas

what's the biggest cruise ship

It made its maiden voyage in 2009, offering 18 total decks (16 guest decks) along with 2,801 staterooms, almost 2,000 of which have balconies. This is the first world-class vessel from the fast-growing MSC Cruises and was built at the popular Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. Since her delivery in October 2022, she has been the largest MSC cruise ship ever. That will be until the sister ship MSC World America arrives in 2025.

Eight Things That Will Surprise First Time Cruisers

Curiously, even though the Icon of the Seas will eventually take the mantle as the largest cruise ship, Wonder will still have more staterooms than its new big sister, a whopping 2,867 of them. These vacation-ready giants of the sea seem to push the boundaries of size year after year. With the biggest ships at sea, though, you're getting way more than just crowds of fellow passengers. Water parks, huge entertainment spaces, dizzying restaurant options, and a wider variety of cabins are all part of how the largest cruise ships are filling all that space. Regarding cruise accommodations, this class of vessels has some of the largest suites at sea - measuring 150 m2 (over 1600 ft2, balcony included). Another signature feature is the 7 "neighborhoods" (theme-park-like areas), 5 large swimming pools, a huge casino, a full-size volleyball/basketball court, large-capacity bars, and lounges.

Carnival Glory

Among the standout features planned for MSC World America will be an Aquapark with multiple waterslides that integrate virtual reality technology. MSC Cruises also announced last week that the ship would have what's billed as the only overwater swing ride at sea; the attraction is called Cliffhanger, and it's suspended 160 feet above the water. Smaller ships don't have space to offer as many attractions as huge vessels, but Carnival invested $500 million over five years to make its fleet more uniform, regardless of ship size. In preparation for sailing, I have “priced in,” as they say on Wall Street, the possibility that I may come from a somewhat different monde than many of the other cruisers.

How Much Cruise Lines Spend on Food (Less Than You Think?)

The ship is the size of almost four city blocks and runs nearly 1,200 feet (365 meters) from bow to stern. Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas can hold the most passengers, with a maximum occupancy of 6,988. For the kids, there’s the new Wonder Playscape—an underwater-themed play area with climbing walls and an interactive puzzle mural. If all the amazing food on board inspires you, be sure to check out Toscana‘s Food LAB, where guests can learn to prepare their own culinary creations alongside the ship’s chefs. Pizza fanatics will want to try the brand new Miami Slice, a free pizzeria that replaces the Pizza Pirate or Pizzeria del Capitano venues found on all other Carnival ships.

Wonder of the Seas® brings even bigger adventures to the award-winning Oasis Class. Like eight unique neighborhoods, including the Suite Neighborhood. A totally redesigned pool deck with more ways to soak up the sun —or shade —than ever before. The most immersive AquaTheater ever, with a game-changing surround-stage that makes you feel part of the action. All of the ships in Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class and Icon Class are at least five times larger than Titanic was.

Costa Toscana

Not to be confused with weight, gross registered tonnage measures a ship's size in terms of internal volume and what a vessel can hold or contain. I am constantly told by my fellow passengers that “everybody here has a story.” Yes, I want to reply, but everybody everywhere has a story. You, the reader of this essay, have a story, and yet you’re not inclined to jump on a cruise ship and, like Duck Necklace, tell your story to others at great pitch and volume.

Carnival Liberty

They already speak English better than most of the passengers and, per the Serbian lady’s sales pitch above, better understand what America is as well. Crew members like my Panamanian cabin attendant seem to work 24 hours a day. A waiter from New Delhi tells me that his contract is six months and three weeks long. After a cruise ends, he says, “in a few hours, we start again for the next cruise.” At the end of the half a year at sea, he is allowed a two-to-three-month stay at home with his family. As of 2019, the median income for crew members was somewhere in the vicinity of $20,000, according to a major business publication. Royal Caribbean would not share the current median salary for its crew members, but I am certain that it amounts to a fraction of the cost of a Royal Bling gold-plated, zirconia-studded chalice.

That’s not to mention 17 different spots to grab a bite to eat. Forget everything you thought you knew about beach days, because this private island destination is raising the standard to a whole new level. Experience elevated island vibes while lounging in The Bahamas’ only private overwater cabanas. Earn bragging rights on the tallest waterslide in North America. And take your vacation to new heights — literally — in a helium balloon ride above the island.

MSC Virtuosa, which is another member of the Meraviglia-Plus class, first set sail in May 2021. It is easily one of the largest in MSC's fleet (along with sister ship Grandiosa), having 2,421 cabins on 15 passenger-accessible decks (18 decks total). Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas slips to the fourth position this year, having been the biggest cruise ship in the world from 2018 to 2022. It has 16 guest decks (18 total decks) along with 2,759 staterooms.

what's the biggest cruise ship

Usually the essayist commissioned to take to the sea is in their first or second flush of youth and is ready to sharpen their wit against the hull of the offending vessel. The Icon of the Seas is the Linda Loman of cruise ships, exclaiming that attention must be paid. Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas ranks as the fifth largest cruise ship in 2022. Here's a look at the 25 biggest cruise ships currently sailing throughout the world. The largest cruise ships in the world answer with a resounding yes. Taking the crown as the 10th-largest cruise ship in the world is Arvia from P&O Cruises.

There is no imposed order, no cogent thought, and, for those who do not harbor a totalitarian sense of gigantomania, no visual mercy. This is the biggest cruise ship ever built, and I have been tasked with witnessing its inaugural voyage. Because of their small size, MSC Armonia and MSC Sinfonia have fewer restaurants, bars and entertainment areas than the biggest MSC Cruises ships.

It's easy to remember that, generally, the newest ships are the largest Carnival ships. However, because Carnival Cruise Line has more than two dozen vessels in its fleet, it can be difficult to keep track of the ships that fall in between the newest and oldest. Finally, I visit a comedy revue in an enormous and too brightly lit version of an “intimate,” per Royal Caribbean literature, “Manhattan comedy club.” Many of the jokes are about the cruising life. “I’ve lived on ships for 20 years,” one of the middle-aged comedians says. “I can only see so many Filipino homosexuals dressed as a taco.” He pauses while the audience laughs.

Royal Caribbean’s massive new ship, Icon of the Seas, passed its inaugural round of sea trials with flying colors, bringing it one step closer to hitting the open ocean with passengers, the cruise line announced late last month. If all goes as planned, the record-breaking vessel will begin sailing in the Caribbean in January 2024. AIDA Cruises AIDAnova is the first launched in the Excellence-class, which also has sister ship AIDAcosma. It was the first ship to be awarded the "Blauer Engel," which is a German environmental label given to green-friendly products and services. The Ultimate Guide to Planning Your NCL Shore Excursion

norwegian cruise shore excursions

If you're a first-time cruiser, it can be helpful to have a few hacks to make your shore excursion experience amazing. Keep these tips in mind when booking, preparing for and embarking on your tour. Finally, remember that while NCL shore excursions are a great way to experience each destination, they are just one option.

Lunch at a lovely restaurant on the coast was included. Located just 10 minutes outside the town of Portland is Cape Bridgewater Beach. Voted as one of Australia's top 10 beaches, this spectacular bay makes an ideal and safe place to enjoy some beach activities. Surrounded by two capes, Cape Nelson and Cape Bridgewater, you can sit back, relax and enjoy this stunning location. You will have approximately 3 hours to soak up the sunshine, take a dip in the ocean, enjoy a stroll along the pristine sands or perhaps indulge in a light refreshment at the café. If you are traveling with a group, consider booking a private tour.

I find that the more I cruise, the less I take ship-sponsored shore excursions because they don't offer exactly what I want. Alternatively, you can wait until you're on the ship and book your excursion in person at the shore excursions desk. You'll be able to ask the staff questions about the tours, and the charges will be added to your final cruise bill. However, you do run the risk that a popular tour might be sold out by the time you're ready to book.

Finally, only a few hundred people live in FlÃ¥m, so the village quickly becomes overwhelmed when even a relatively small cruise ship visits. If there’s more than one ship (it’s possible for two to visit if one anchors in the fjord), then booking all activities in advance will be essential to avoid disappointment. The train station in FlÃ¥m is just a few minutes’ walk from the cruise ship dock, so there really is little added value by paying a lot more for the official cruise line excursion. Also wanted to mention we did this trip with carryon only luggage.

Sometimes you also need an expert guide, such as in Pompeii, to know what you're seeing. Gain a broad understanding of Oslo by delving into its maritime history and inspiring creativity before heading to Gardermoen Airport in plenty of time to catch your flight. The Fram Museum focuses on Norway’s heroic polar explorations, and its namesake – the wooden ship Fram – is mounted inside. Active tours can include water sports, ziplining, hiking, biking, dog-sledding and more. Activity-based trips might feature a day at the spa or beach, a pleasure cruise on a sailboat, wine or food tasting, a cultural performance or a visit to a museum. Sightseeing excursions are typically bus tours that take passengers to the highlights and shopping areas of the port city or nearby destinations.

Of course anything we ate this day was the best ever. Still no way to post a tour review (I just poked around for 20 minutes and couldn't figure it out)? The descriptions on their reviews leaves MUCH to be desired (ex. recent "7 hour tour including Mayan ruins etc"....but 6 of it is BUS transport time). When I was deciding on what excursions to take on my upcoming cruise, I found it so helpful to read the reviews on NCL's website. If you've done your research and have decided that you want to do a specific excursion offered on your cruise, think carefully about whether to book in advance or onboard. It's best to book in advance for must-do tours and limited-availability excursions (like almost every excursion on an Alaskan cruise or flightseeing while docked on a cruise to Hawaii).

ACTIVITY ATTRIBUTES

It may seem unnecessary to get off a cruise ship and immediately board a sightseeing boat, but there are many reasons to do just that in FlÃ¥m. We really did enjoy coming back to this after long days. Did a great set up for snacks and grab and go breakfast items. He also set up the upper deck every day even though it did not seem to get much use. Tepenaki was fun but it’s probably a little too loud for me.  It’s hard for me to enjoy casual conversation with table mates with all the noise. Moderno has an incredible salad bar this time around.

Hotel Reward Programs

We did the small group tour in Naples, Almafi coast including Positano, big excursion does not go there. Take advantage of any free time during the excursion to explore on your own or shop for souvenirs. If the tour takes place over lunchtime, check to see if a meal is included or if you have time to pick up something to eat. Be sure to note the fitness level required and don't try to take on more than you're able to do. If you struggle with mobility, check to see if there's a lot of walking on uneven ground like cobblestones.

With flat terrain and spectacular sights in both directions, FlÃ¥m is ideal to explore by bicycle. The scenic railway journey from FlÃ¥m to Myrdal is a travel highlight of any visit to FlÃ¥m, Norway. Highlights include the photo stop at the spectacular Kjosfossen waterfall, which is at its most powerful in the spring and early summer. Make the most of the five minutes out on the platform as it’s a wonderful spot for photography. FlÃ¥m village is nestled at the end of the spectacular Aurlandsfjord in the heart of Fjord Norway. Experience a one-of-a-kind experience for dinner, featuring the best of traditional Hawaiian dishes and local favorites as well as entertainment highlighting Polynesian culture.

Have a great cruise, and do plan on some time in Rome before or after. When booking, make sure to provide any necessary information such as dietary restrictions or mobility concerns. This will help ensure that the tour operator can accommodate your needs. You'll likely want to tip more for customized, private tours — consider 5 to 20% of the cost of the tour. Photographs are for illustration purposes only used to represent the excursion experience and may not accurately depict the excursion, location, or activity indicated. Participation in activities and excursions may involve physical exertion, and may be potentially hazardous or dangerous.

Spend hours independently exploring Bilbao, a seaside city in the heart of Basque Country that has been dramatically revitalized since the Guggenheim Museum opened a few decades ago. You will be dropped off next to the Old Quarter, a pedestrian-friendly area founded more than 700 years ago. Bilbao’s most historical churches, monuments and plazas are there and not to be missed.

Our Latitude Free laundry bags came back day after we turned in both times. I can’t say it came back with a tide fresh scent or anything but it is the job and I can’t complain. I had originally assumed that between seasons, tours were removed from the website when they were no longer offered.

Our meals in the other specialty venues varied from outstanding to good enough to stay in business as a standalone land based venue. All in all we found food and dining service to be better than years past. Very appreciative for the return of lobster and jumbo shrimp along with higher quality cuts of meats to the menu. All things equal, I would say independent excursions are generally a much better deal financially and they are often smaller groups, less waiting and just more pleasurable. A side effect I noted on this sailing – there were a few sick passengers onboard at the beginning of the sailing. Towards the end of the sailing the tour busses were chock full of coughing, ill passengers.

For the prices ncl charges we could do just about any land or sea vacation. I think ncl knows they are pushing the limits on what they charge for their Haven on some of these Europe sailings so in return they try to deliver a product worth the cost. I enjoy the specialty venues over the inclusive venues so I purchased an additional specialty package to supplement the FAS  perk and latitudes free diners. One was in Jasmine which was pretty bad and one was in the MDR which was pretty good. We returned a subsequent night and it was probably the best meal and service we have had at sea to date so go figure.

His life’s work, more than 200 sculptures of the human form in granite, bronze and wrought iron are on display. Another Oslo landmark – towering Holmenkollen Ski Jump – lies ahead, offering you spectacular views of the city, the fjord and the surrounding islands. Opponents to cruise ships have become more vocal in recent years with grassroots campaigns growing in support. There are many locals who do support the industry and the economic benefit it brings, but if you’re visiting on a large vessel, keep this ongoing debate in mind when meeting locals.

Austin: Lake Austin Private Boat Cruise Full Sun Shading

cruise austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Less than a year ago, General Motors’ Cruise announced it would bring “robotaxi” technology to Austin in the form of driverless rideshare services. Now, Cruise is expanding its Austin services, moving beyond strictly testing in the Texas capital. You can hire an outside bar service to set-up a cash or open/hosted bar on our boat for your group.

Check out the World Famous ...

It's hard to say goodbye to Texas — and harder to choose just where you'll sail to when you leave. Book cruises from Texas to Mexico, and dock at captivating ports like Cozumel and Puerto Costa Maya, as well as stop in postcard-worthy Roatán, Honduras. The volume of things to do in Texas is certainly one of the best reasons to take a cruise vacation getaway from Texas. Begin your travels in the heart of Space City learning the history of NASA at Space Center Houston, then explore the Museum District for exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts or Children's Museum. We are a city concession and a portion of our gross sales goes to support our nationally recognized park system. Fred DuPuy is the new owner of Lone Star Riverboat which has been in business as an Austin icon since 1987.

Participating partners and available rewards are subject to change without notice. Unfortunately, more and more Cruise robotaxis flooded the narrow Austin street to meet the peak demand, only to join in the traffic jam. But why were there so many robotaxis in this one specific area? Cruise states that at the time, there were limited routes going north and south through the city, and a detour from an alternative route led the EVs to the same doomed parkway.

The value of Membership Rewards points varies according to how you choose to use them. It was a crowded, challenging environment; and, there was no pedestrian, vehicle or property damage. According to the team at Cruise, the fleet ended up in a high-demand area, which also brought with it a slew of pedestrian and passenger vehicle traffic. As you can see in the video, one of the Cruise vehicles got stuck in an intersection while committing to a turn, thus further congesting traffic in three different directions. To truly grasp the traffic situation, you need to check out the full video from Reddit user u/analkaos posted to r/damnthatsinteresting yesterday. The 48-second clip shows gridlocked traffic on a narrow Austin street dominated by Cruise EVs.

3 Day Baja Mexico Cruise from Long Beach with Carnival

3 days cruise from long beach

It’s not hard to see why San Francisco has captured so many hearts and minds. World-class cuisine, iconic architecture, diverse neighborhoods and history all wait at your fingertips. Ride the ferry to Alcatraz, or tour Sonoma wine country and taste some of the world's best wines on a cruise to Alaska from San Francisco.

Play your way

No other adults besides for the youth staff, who work there, are allowed to walk through the door, which gave me peace of mind. After dropping them off, my husband and I went to the Trivia Night event for a bit and then, headed to the Piano Bar. Follow our social media and blog for the latest cruise and travel news, including our best vacation deals. One of the largest cities within Los Angeles, Long Beach is a dominant maritime center for the United States. A city within a city, Long Beach is located between downtown Los Angeles and Orange County. With its temperate year-round climate, the “Aquatic Capital of America” is perfect for cruise vacations.

Cruises from/to Long Beach, California

The teens in Club O2 hung out in the club room, went to onboard shows, the video arcade and met for meals. Our son had a great time and loved connecting with other teens and my husband and I found we were on our own for most of our cruise — having dinner on our own and enjoying many of the onboard shows. Each day on the cruise you will receive a “Fun Times” itinerary that includes everything there is to do onboard. It shares sections for “top entertainment’, “food”, “drinks”, “spa”, “music”, “movies”, “casino”, “shopping”, “kids & teens” as well as a schedule for everything happening with the times and locations. It is a super fun way to spend a weekend and what my husband and I found out, is we truly had a vacation.

Our Mexico 3 Day Carnival Cruise Itinerary on Carnival

Stateroom photos are for sample purposes only -- actual design and layout may vary. While we're excited about the Italian side of this ship, it's not the whole story. Carnival has some true fan-favorites we know folks will be asking for. () That's why Carnival Firenze also includes familiar flavors… starting with special dining spots like Bonsai Teppanyaki™ and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse™. Places to celebrate absolutely anything (or just nothing!) include Piano Bar 88 and Serenity Bar, while you can seriously kick back at Cloud 9 Spa™ and Serenity Adult-Only Retreat™.

At publication, excursion prices range from approximately $25 to $145 per person. Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Radiance. Any time you're in your room, you're just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel.

Since we booked a suite (as that was the only availability as we were waitlisted), we were able to sit in a really nice waiting area with nice cushy chairs until it was time for us to embark. I think it was a quarter til 11AM when we were called to line up on Zone 1 to walk on the ramp to get on our cruise ship from the terminal. We had missed the opportunity to check in our suitcases, so we had to roll three suitcases up the ramp. It was not as bad as we thought it would be because the ramp was very smooth. Before we could proceed to explore the ship, we went to the mandatory safety briefing as a family and got the kids' their mandatory green wristbands that kids under a certain age had to wear. We like to eat at their formal dining room for dinners as cruise ships' traditional service is typically wonderful.

INSIDE THIS SHIP

Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space; not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere. Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Radiance's gentle wake from your spacious balcony. Cruise to Baja Mexico for some south-of-the-border flavor with a coastal twist.

Check out Los Angeles and Ensenada, Mexico, in one weekend on one of Princess Cruises' Pacific Coast cruises. Whether you prefer blackjack or roulette, find world-class games in the casino on board every Getaway cruise. Roll the die and test your luck with poker, or let fate run its course on the slot machines. Sharpen your skills with lessons from our staff, and then show off your expertise at the table. Or enjoy games on the go, including Keno on Deck® and bingo, when you access Play Ocean® through the MedallionClass app.

Learn how to prepare local delicacies during chef-led presentations, and taste them for yourself in any of the dining rooms and specialty restaurants. Or indulge in unique beverages crafted by expert Mixologist Rob Floyd. Set sail on a true sensory experience with Getaway cruises from Princess. On any Getaway cruise, dive into relaxation with a dip in the sparkling pools or hot tubs.

Below you’ll find some helpful tips for cruising and some of our favorite moments on our 3-Day Baja, Mexico cruise from long beach to Ensenada.

Prior to working at 52 Perfect Days she was a freelance travel writer; focusing on family and women’s adventure experiences. For a luxury hotel that won’t break the bank, I recommend the Westin Long Beach, which is currently the #1 hotel on Tripadvisor. Carnival has a waterpark called WaterWorks and it includes a twister waterslide, a double straight slide, two mini slides and a spray park.

To play on any of the games in the area, we used our Sail and Sign Carnival card to pay for plays so no tokens or an additional play card were needed. When we played games that earned tickets, we just had to feed them into a machine where it would load the total to our Sail and Sign card. Then, we took that same card to another machine to redeem the tickets for prizes.

Don’t be confused — the Baja California peninsula is actually in Mexico, and cruises to Mexico are a great way to explore this area. Getting there’s a snap, because it’s just south of California (California, USA, that is) and it’s all just a short trip when you cruise from Los Angeles. While the region features a geography not unlike SoCal, it’s a different world… one that attracts American expats, and especially retirees, who call coastal resort towns like Ensenada their home. Cruise to Baja Mexico and enjoy Ensenada’s beaches before hitting the fashionable shops of Avenida Primera for new jewelry… duty-free, of course.

During our cruise, we had a bit of rain on day one and it was a tad chilly for the waterslides for us. If there’s one thing about cruises, it’s that you have lots and lots of choices and you’ll certainly never go hungry! As I shared above, my husband and I found that our son wanted to hang out with the other teens and for the most part planned his days and nights around the club.

Expect the same Carnival-friendly crew and beloved venues, alongside new, creative concepts, Italian-themed restaurants, bars, and entertainment options. The ship’s unique architectural design beautifully mirrors its namesake, offering travellers a slice of Italy in the heart of the Pacific. Carnival Panorama, renowned for its seven-day sailings, is ushering in a new era of cruising by introducing alternating six- and eight-day itineraries. Departing on both Saturdays and Sundays, these journeys will be available from spring 2025 through to spring 2026.

There are more than 20 shore excursions you can book when you buy your cruise or while you are on the cruise ship. Excursion options range from nearby wine country tours of Valle de Guadalupe (Guadalupe Valley), to surfing, kayaking, food tours and lots more. Extend your cruise vacation, and simplify your travel plans with a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your cruise. With a Cruise Plus Hotel Package, a Princess representative meets you at the airport and pier, transporting you to and from your hotel.
